Safety issues are handled by the Health, Safety, and Environmental Committee, Chaired by Tim Wells.

The Health, Safety, and Environmental Committee (HSEC) is the technical advisory group of the AESC on Accident Prevention and Environmental Affairs.  The HSEC, working with educational institutions and continuing education agencies, prepare and promote all audio-visual, educational, and safety/environmental related training materials produced by the Association, ensuring that films are of the type and quality that will be most useful in the member's accident prevention and environmental efforts.  The committee studies and formulates plans and procedures for contests and awards, such as the Annual Safety Awards program, applicable to the energy service industry.  The HSEC will also provide interpretive expertise on various governmental regulations and safe work practices, which affect the industry, such as OSHA, EPA, and state environmental agencies.  The HSEC brings together contractors, producers, manufacturers, and other companies/associations to develop and present the most effective programs within the industry.  The HSEC's purpose is to provide their resources to the members of the AESC.
